Northern Kidder County Senior Health Services

Kidder County District Health Unit is now able to offer weekly senior center and home visits for residents who live in the Northern part of the county – Tuttle, Robinson, Pettibone! Up until now, time and funding only allowed a nurse to round up North every other week. Through a state-run federal grant to support public health workforce and increase health equity, KCDHU has applied for and acquired funding to staff a nurse to do weekly North visits. This funding is only available through June 2024, however. During this time, data will be collected to justify this continued service for our Northern residents.
To assist KCDHU staff with the weekly rounding up North, Nikki Mack, RN will rotate weeks with Tricia Steinke, RN during this temporary funding period. Much like Steinke, Nikki Mack resides in the Northern part of the county and is very excited to take on this new role to improve health equity in the county. She has a passion for home health and meeting clients where they reside to improve their health outcomes.
Need services? We offer home visits for medication set ups, BP checks, assessments, wound care, and foot care. We take referrals from not just providers, but family members and clients themselves. We do not bill insurance for these home visits, however we do have a suggested monetary donation list.
We will also be consistently at the Senior Centers on Thursdays during the following approximate schedule:
Tuttle Senior Center: 11:30-12p
Robinson Senior Center: 12:15-12:45p
Pettibone Senior Center: 2-3pm
At the Senior Centers we primarily check in with residents, answer questions, and complete BP checks. Possible expansion of this program is now possible with extra staffing to include blood glucose screenings, education relating to a variety of senior topics, and any other activities to address the needs of the residents.
